Description:		A spectacular Victorian engagement ring dating to the 1880s, with a gorgeous and fiery old cut diamond. Large diamonds of this era are extremely difficult to find in their original mounts, and this one is especially well designed. The band is inscribed with the year 1884, and initials, which have worn beyond recognition. The diamond would grade as an SI2 or 3 clarity, because of a natural cleave just below the table's surface. But otherwise the stone has spectacular clarity and the flaw is very difficult to notice. The ring comes in what appears to be its original purple velvet box from a Connecticut jeweler. A very special ring.
